about

This song is comprised of three true-to-life stories about people from my past. Losing these friends, helped to awakened me early to the horrors that family can inflict. A child of domestic violence, myself, these stories represent the extremes that people go through. Living through this propelled me join a suicide watch phone line, where I talked several people down from ending it all, before I had to leave and get my own head together.

Lost to the Creeping Void
Music & Lyrics by Stavros

Desperate & all alone
On the run & far from home
Doin' what you can
'Cause it's better than why you ran

But that man in the yard
Choked you out & raped you twice

What your family did wasn't right
You were only looking for a break
They never gave you the chance
To find a home within their house.

Oh, Angels cry for innocence
Lost to the creeping void

Daddy's comin' home
Your shaken & all alone
Thick hands for beating you
So, you steal his gun & make him gone

At last, you can rest
But the Law doesn't see the scars
The blind eye that set him free
Is the same one that was the key

But when they let him out they damned your soul
'Cause your house was never a home.

Oh, Angels cry for innocence
Lost to the creeping void

Will this yelling ever stop
Despite the words you're good enough
But they drill it in your head
So, you dream of death instead

And they act so scared and shocked
When you run the blade across your arm
Never once do they see
Their own vicious, vicious harm

Four walls in a living hell
Makes the grave a better sell

Oh, Angels cry for innocence
Lost to the creeping void

about

Cherokee Starlight Albuquerque, New Mexico

Music is! It's the language of my heart, my mind, and Spirit. It is the language of our Earth, the stars; it is life. Every vibration that moves within us, around us, and through us, can be heard, felt, and played. I play with the sounds of Folk, Rock, Punk, Funk, Hip Hop, Spoken Word, and Jazz to explore the journey of this odd flesh suitcase traveling down this organic ghetto. ... more
