about

This song developed out of late night phone calls with a female friend. We each liked the other, but were hesitant to truly let our desires be known for fear of being rejected, or loosing the friendship we had established. Having these desires for one another amidst the backdrop of a Judo-Christian up bringing, where lustful thoughts are considered sinful, made it harder for each of us to connect to the other person, but painted a lovely scene to write a song.

lyrics

The Shame
Music & Lyrics by Stavros

You say you wanna take me home tonight
You say you wanna love me all night long
Your eyes sound just like a telephone
Making calls so you are not alone

The shame of wanting to love
The shame of needing hope
The shame of holding onto life
The shame of lust feels good

The weight of the stars on your tender spine
Feels like a fast moving freight train
So real when you're lying flat on your back
Skin deep in the emptiness you crave to fill

The shame of wanting to love
The shame of needing hope
The shame of holding onto life
The shame of lust feels good

about

Cherokee Starlight Albuquerque, New Mexico

Music is! It's the language of my heart, my mind, and Spirit. It is the language of our Earth, the stars; it is life. Every vibration that moves within us, around us, and through us, can be heard, felt, and played. I play with the sounds of Folk, Rock, Punk, Funk, Hip Hop, Spoken Word, and Jazz to explore the journey of this odd flesh suitcase traveling down this organic ghetto. ... more
